A massless boundary component mode synthesis method for elastodynamic contact problems

چکیده

We propose to combine the ideas of mass redistribution and component mode synthesis. More specifically, we employ MacNeal method, which readily leads a singular matrix, an accordingly modified version Craig-Bampton method. Besides obtaining massless boundary, achieve drastic reduction mathematical model order in this way compared parent finite element model. Contact is modeled using set-valued laws time stepping carried out with semi-explit scheme. assess method’s computational performance by series benchmarks, including both frictionless frictional contact. The results indicate that proposed method achieves excellent energy conservation properties superior convergence behavior. It reduces spurious oscillations decreases effort about 1–2 orders magnitude current state art (mass-carrying synthesis method). believe favorable will be valuable for prediction vibro-impact processes physical damping.
